There is no need to use anything else in conjunction with them, even on your heaviest days, with our heavy and super absorbency briefs holding up to 60 ml. If you do like to wear a menstrual eco cup, you can choose light or moderate absorbency underwear, to wear as a backup for when your cup overflows. Refer to our Know Your Flow page, for more guidance.
Eco pads are also a complete replacement for other period and lbl products, with 4 layer Eco-tech designed to provide absorbency up to 100 ml.
What size is right for me?
We recommend taking your normal underwear size.
Do I need to wash them before wear?
Yes, we recommend washing your period underwear and eco pads before the first time you wear them to help prime the 4 layer eco technology.
What does it feel like wearing them?
Our eco briefs feel just like regular underwear! The absorbent gusset was designed to be comfy and discreet, never bulky or heavy. Just choose your favourite style of underwear and you are good to go!
Eco Pads are soft and comfortable and clip into your regular underwear to keep them in place. They use ‘dry touch’ technology to keep you feeling dry, even with heavy flows. Please monitor and if you start to feel ‘wetness’, please change your eco briefs or eco pads.
To determine your size, there are two ways to check:
1. Measure your best fitting underwear or swimwear at home against the 'Half waist Flat Lay' measurements. This is the dimension of the top of the waist band of your underwear, when they are lying flat.
2. Measure around your hips, so over your hip bones and check against the Hip measurements either below or on the specific size chart for your product.
If there is a discrepancy between your hip measurements and your flat lay measurements with our size chart, go with the flat lay measurements, as they represent the actual underwear you are buying and will be more accurate.
Always refer to the product specific size chart if there is one available (found at the top of the product page above the size selections), otherwise, refer to this chart below. If in doubt, please message us on chat function or email info@ecoperiod.com.au and we can discuss your needs.
How to measure
To choose the right size, follow the tips below:
- Use a flexible measuring tape for maximum accuracy.
- Measure hip dimensions on bare skin or over thin, tight-fitting fabric.
- For flat lay half waist measuring, take the measurement of the garment when unstretched, and be mindful or how stretchy the elastic is of your sample, as very stretchy elastics will be designed to stretch out, so give some allowance for that.

Adjustable Racerback Period Swimwear
60 day risk free trial for new customers
Our Racerback period swimsuit design just had an upgrade!
Now with adjustable slimline straps and a longer torso than our original racerback, this period swimsuit is more comfortable than ever!
Also now features an extended gusset to cater for heavier flows up to 30 ml.
Beautifully made, this racerback features a built-in shelf bra and modesty cups, water resistant outer (recycled nylon/elastane) fabric.
Available in sizes 8 to 18. (Ladies 8 will fit youth 12-14). *We can exchange sizes for unworn, as new items, but cannot offer refunds on period swimwear.
What is Period-proof swimwear?
Period-proof swimwear looks similar to regular swimwear and has a built-in multilayer lining to absorb menstrual blood.
Period-proof swimwear is specially designed for swimming during periods, incontinence or vaginal spotting.
Period swimwear is also popular with competition swimmers, given they spend so much time in the pool. Period swimwear helps them to focus on training or a swim meet without having to worry about leakage.
Period-proof swimwear is also a great option for girls with irregular periods or who are entering into puberty. Periods can arrive unexpectedly, and period-proof swimwear can help protect against those unexpected moments while swimming.
How does Period swimwear work?
Eco Period swimwear offer four layers of protection. The first is the outer swimwear fabric, which is water resistant to reduce water getting into the swimsuit. The next layer is made of leakproof fabric to stop captured menstrual blood from leaking out. The middle layer of the swimsuit is designed to lock in and absorb menstrual blood. The top layer of the period swimwear that sits against the skin is made of moisture wicking mesh that dries quickly once out of the water.
Eco period swimwear can absorb from 2 teaspoons to 6 teaspoons of menstrual or bladder fluid. For reference, a normal tampon is usually able to hold about 1 teaspoon (5 milliliters) of menstrual blood.
Eco period swimsuits can be worn by itself on light to moderate period days or even on heavy days if you wash out or change your swimwear as needed. This is why we sell some of our period swimmer bottoms in 2 packs, so you have an extra for heavy days. We also recommend rinsing them out throughout the day if you are going to be wearing them all day. This can allow you to wear them for an extended time (say if you are a swim teacher or at a race event, or swimming carnival). You simply rinse out til the blood is mostly removed, wring and wear again. And of course, wash properly at the end of the day. We recommend natural liquid detergents and cold water for washing and cold water only for rinsing.
Do I wear these with a tampon, cup or pad?
Eco briefs are a complete replacement for other leak management products.

Nephrite Jade Yoni Eggs - GIA Certified
60 day risk free trial for new customers
GIA Certified Nephrite Jade Love Stone Yoni eggs are the original yoni egg, it is the ideal material for beginners as it is physically very hardy and nonporous, so it is difficult to break or crack. Being non-porous is also important to for hygiene and safety, being easy to clean.
It is recommended to start with a Trio Set of 3 yoni eggs, so you can work your way from the large to the small egg as your pelvic floor strengthens.
What Size Yoni Egg Should I start with?
This beginners set of three is perfect for you to explore with the three different sizes, rather than just one size, which may not be right for your pelvic floor. Every woman has had different experiences, be it childbirth, surgeries, trauma etc and thus will have different needs for their pelvic floor. Having the three sizes to trial and test is helpful to determine what is best for you, and also to progress to different sizes as your pelvic floor heals and strengthens.
It is recommended as a general rule, to start with the large egg for about a month, practicing a few times a week. then moving on to the medium size and after about 6 months of practice, progressing to the small size.
However, this is general advice, you may find the large egg too big or too heavy for your vaginal muscles and prefer to start with a medium or small size. It really depends on the individual and what feels right for you.
In this video, Dr Barbara O'Neill discusses the benefits of yoni stones for strengthening pelvic floor naturally, for healing incontinence and prolapse.
Why is Nephrite Jade the best option for Yoni Egg practice?
Nephrite Jade is the best material for a yoni egg intended for regular wear and practice, it is also the suggested stone of choice for beginners for a number of reasons:
- Physically, jade is a very hard and nonporous stone that will last a lifetime with proper care. It is smooth, easy to clean and very hard to break or crack. It also has a high thermal conductivity, therefore your body will not need to use as much energy to keep “heating” the yoni egg.
- Nephrite Jade is the kindest grounding stone in the universe, said to protect and encourage peaceful energy in the heart and throughout the body.
- Nephrite Jade was the stone of choice in Ancient China - the origins of the Yoni egg.

Please note that GIA certificate is not included in your set for each stone. We carry out certification periodically on a sample from the supplier / source that remains consistent. Being natural stones, they will vary in colour, some will be blackish green, some greenish black, and with flecks and variation throughout the stones (always smoothed without chips of course).
Caring for your Love Stone Yoni egg
- Wash with a gentle soap before first use and after each use, including the string. Rinse well and leave it to dry thoroughly before reusing.
- With regular practice, it becomes important to energetically clean your jade egg by putting it in a bowl of sea salt.
Using your Love Stone yoni egg - Some Kegel exercises
- When you feel ready, insert your Love Stone into your vagina large end first (string side down).
- Isolate and contract the anterior muscles of the vagina, which will keep your Love Stone in.
- Gently squeeze your Love Stone in the middle section of the vaginal canal until you feel you have a grip on it. Practice moving your egg up and down the length of the canal and keep your egg from popping out until you’re ready.
- When out of breath, exhale and relax PC (pubococcygeus) muscle completely while keeping egg in.
- On inhale, repeat step 5.
- Repeat 10 times, at least 2-3 times per week.
- When finished, relax and push your egg out.
- We do provide additional exercises in a leaflet included with your order.

Precautions for use of yoni eggs
Important – Do not practice with a Love Stone if you are pregnant or right after childbirth. A Yoni egg can be a wonderful practice to start postpartum, just make sure to consult your doula, midwife or doctor before you start. Please choose carefully, because internal use products such as yoni eggs are not able to be returned.
The egg will also likely come out when you go to the toilet so remember to remove first, so you don't lose it!
Consult a qualified healthcare practitioner to see if using a yoni egg may be suitable for you.
Do not use a yoni egg without clearance from qualified medical practitioner if you; are pregnant, use an IUD, are suffering from an infection or STI, have a hyperactive pelvic floor, have pelvic organ prolapse, have had vaginal or pelvic organ surgery in the last 3 months, experience pain during intercourse, suffer from vaginismus or other gynaecological medical conditions.
Ensure your yoni egg is thoroughly cleaned before and after every use. See Care Instructions below.
Store your yoni egg in the pouch provided and keep it out of reach of young children as they may be a choking hazard.
Please note: some colour imperfections may be visible on the surface of your yoni egg due to natural variations in the stone. Natural imperfections and variations do not indicate the yoni egg is defective. Each stone is carefully checked for chips and scratches, if you do chip or scratch your egg, it may become difficult to thoroughly clean, and you should discontinue use.
Do I wear these with a tampon, cup or pad?
Eco briefs are a complete replacement for other leak management products.
